# Receive bitcoin using Jade

In order to receive bitcoin, you will need to generate an [address](https://glossary.blockstream.com/address-bitcoin/) with your Jade's companion app and share it with the sender. Your Jade can verify that the address generated by your companion app belongs to the wallet stored on your device.

> **Tip:** Please refer to your wallet app's specific instructions for using a hardware wallet if you are not using Jade with the Blockstream app.

## Receive bitcoin

1.

Log in to your Jade wallet on the Blockstream app, then tap the **Transact** tab.

Select **Receive** from the available actions.

The Blockstream app will generate a Receive address for your chosen asset. Select **Verify on Device** to confirm the address on Jade. The Blockstream app will prompt you to connect your Jade if it is not connected already.

Verify that the address on Jade matches the address displayed on the Blockstream app, then click the checkmark to continue.

Share the address with the sender and wait for them to broadcast the transaction. Your new balance will appear on the home screen once they have successfully done so.
