# Set up watch-only access for Jade

A watch-only wallet allows you to generate receive addresses and view your balance without needing to connect your Blockstream Jade to **the Blockstream app**. When you're ready to send funds, you will need to [connect your Jade](https://support.dxp-staging.blockstream.com/blockstream-jade/set-up-transact-recover-your-wallet/connect-jade-to-a-companion-app) and unlock it with your PIN to sign transactions.

> **Tip:** If you're using a hardware wallet with a different app, please consult that wallet's specific instructions for watch-only usage.

# Watch-Only Access

1\. Open the Blockstream app and log in to your Jade wallet.

2\. Tap the gear icon in the top-right corner and select **Settings**.

3\. Select **Watch-only** and choose the account you'd like to access without connecting Jade. Depending on your account type, either copy the extended public key (xpub) or create credentials.

- **Singlesig:** Copy the extended public key (xpub)
- **Multisig (2FA):** Create a username and password

4\. From the app's home screen, tap **Set up a New Wallet**, then choose **Add Wallet** → **Watch-only**.

5\. Select your account type and paste in the extended public key or enter the credentials if using a Multisig Shield/2FA account.

6\. Once imported, your watch-only wallet will appear in the wallet list. Tap it to view balances and generate receive addresses without needing to connect your Jade.
