# Verify your recovery phrase

If you want to check that your written recovery phrase backup leads to the correct PIN-saved wallet, use the **Temporary Signer** feature to login. This allows you to login with a recovery phrase without overwriting the wallet currently saved on your Blockstream Jade.

Unlock the Jade with your PIN and take note of your **8-character fingerprint** in the bottom right corner of the screen (e.g. 8D688EA0).

Log out of the current session or reboot your Jade, then choose **Options** from the home screen.

Choose **Temporary Signer** and make sure to **read the warning** to understand that you are proceeding with a temporary wallet.

> **Warning:** Jade will forget this wallet after turning the device off. Make sure to keep a backup of this recovery phrase to access any funds you send to the wallet.

Select the **length of your recovery phrase** to type it in manually. If your wallet also included a [passphrase](https://support.dxp-staging.blockstream.com/blockstream-app/perform-advanced-wallet-operations/set-up-a-bip39-passphrase), make sure that you are [prompted to enter one](https://support.dxp-staging.blockstream.com/blockstream-jade/faqs/how-does-a-passphrase-work-on-jade). Then, manually enter your seed phrase in the correct order.

After completing this, choose between **USB**, **Bluetooth**, or **QR**, then connect your Blockstream Jade to a [companion app](https://support.dxp-staging.blockstream.com/blockstream-jade/set-up-transact-recover-your-wallet/download-a-companion-app-for-jade). You will be temporarily logged into your wallet and this **recovery phrase will only be available until Jade turns off**.

Notice the 8-character fingerprint displayed in the bottom right corner of the screen. If it matches the same fingerprint shown when unlocking with PIN, then your recovery phrase and PIN-saved wallet are the same.
